Yury Gazzaev held a morning recovery training session and answered some questions:

“Why this sudden decision to leave?”

“Maybe it is sudden for you. When I came, the situation was extremely hard. And after that, too , when it wasn’t clear if the team will take part in the championship. In such case it would have been necessary to start from the scratch. When I was invited, I had a large sphere of responsibility, and I would like to thank everyone I worked with.

The supporters in Samara deserve to have a stable team. We had problems completing the team, which was to act as one which unfortunately didn’t happen as I see. Yesterday the team was united, but it has to be always. The team is bigger than 11 players. Some of the players understand that, some do not. I am sure that given more time I could build a great team. I hope that there will be someone who will make it all right, the situation is not that bad though. It is my opinion that the team played well vs. Rubin, and the score is the result of the mistakes of individuals, we did have quite a few opportunities. If I can’t make the team disciplined enough, I’d better leave. I believe, this decision is well-grounded. Working in Samara has been a great experience, I have never been in such a situation before. I believe that the team that will invite me will get better with my help.”

“So it looks like the reason for your leaving is that there exists a group of players who do not obey?”

“No. I wouldn’t like to go into detail.”

“Did your decision depend upon the result of yesterday’s game. It was a shock for everyone.”

“No, it didn’t. The coaching staff all new that I was going to leave.”

“Will you wait for your successor to pass on the team to him?”

“I will have to talk to the president about that. I have a good relationship with him and I would like to wish him to preserve the team and to develop it.”
